Receiver renames

I’m really glad to have found a remote that supports our 2011 AVR. I’ve been looking for a remote for iPhone for my wife and deremote, while full featured, is anything but intuitive. I use an app on Android that I really like called simply AVR remote and it allows me to select the option to use receiver renames. Is there any way to do this currently? I can’t find any kind of global settings like that for the app. If it’s not possible, it’s a deal-breaker for us because I don’t even remember what the original names of the inputs were!

PS, you should really advertise the fact in the description of the app that it supports earlier networked Denon avrs than the official Denon app. Why Denon wouldn’t create such an app is a mystery to me but so it goes. I Don’t know how far back networked Avrs go prior to 2011, but those of us with older systems appreciate the support!

I’m going to continue this thread with my questions or comments. I cannot get this working on Android, only on iOS. It’s possible that our receiver is not fully supported, which is understood, only a few apps will work with our AVR 3310ci from 2011. But if you would expect the app to work on Android as well as iOS for our receiver, I have not been able to make that happen by either scanning or entering the IP on Android.

Hi,

If it works on iOS it should work on Android. Some older AVRs only accepts one twlnet connection at a time tho so that could possibly be an issue?

I’m not sure what you mean by receiver renames. The app is supposed to present th friendly name of the AVR. What do you see? Could you explain möre and possibly show a screen shot?

Thanks

J

I appreciate the info. Talking about
renames (and deletions) of the inputs. The initial input list I see is all of the default input names. I can see these edits on AVR remote, but not so far on QR. Although maybe it’s supposed to happen automatically. When I opened my wife’s app on iOS today, all the inputs were gone – the only thing on the list was the active input-- and I believe it was the edited or friendly name.

Appreciate your help. I realize it may be beyond the scope of your project to fully support these older units.

At least we could try to see what is going on. If you send an email to info@bitzeal.se I can give you instructions on how to collect logs from your system if you would like that.
