What features do you miss?

A sleep timer?

Anybody using Low Frequency Containment?

Frequent changes of anything else? E.g. enabling graphic EQ?

Hey first of all thank you very much for the nice app it’s really good

I use the dB level on my AVR and would like to have that same dB level in the app itself.

Thank you

That is a nice idea. I think it would be cool to see which is the calibrated reference level (0dB) that apparently corresponds to 80 when using the number mode.

Drawbacks I can think of:

  • Some users have requested a way to tap the numbers and enter an exact volume level, that would be more difficult if you had negative and positive numbers
  • It would require a configuration section in the app, since I don’t think you can read the configuration from the AVR to find out it’s current display mode

Great app! Could you allow an optional volume bar that doesn’t take half of the screen but just a straight horizontal bar? That way I wouldn’t need to scroll to get to things. Everything could fit in one screen.
Also, could every option be modular and optional, so I could decide what I want and don’t want to see on the screen?

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve been thinking about a modular approach like you said but actually didnt think there was a demand for a horizontal volume bar, as it would be less accurate. But I’ll keep it in mind

Anybody else here who has comments on this?

As a solution to the horizontal bar inaccuracy, you could add another bar below, which would move the top one slowly to the left or right. This would be a precise way to obtain the correct value, and it would still save space on the screen. Additionally, in newer AVRs, there is Dirac functionality that is not supported by the app; only Audyssey controls are supported. Could they be added as an option?

It’s an interesting idea with the slimmer volume control, I’ll think about it and see if more users request this and the modular layout thing.

About Dirac, my own AVR doesn’t even support it  How do you use it and what would you like to control quickly with the app?

Maybe DENON can gift me one so I can develop the features :b

To begin with, they should hire you as their app developer

With Dirac, there are 3 calibration profiles that can be chosen, additionally adding Dirac on/off

Another useful feature would be the UI AVR audio delay control. I use a number of devices in my HT, various sources routed differently, some bypass video processor, and use it for audio processing only. Because of that sources should be set with different audio delays in the AVR.

AVR Audio delay sounds more like a one time setup thou? Maybe nothing you want to clutter your everyday UI with?

Hey, is the “center spread” (Dolby Surround feature) possible to add? Right now, it needs to be toggled on and off with the bulky stock Denon app.

Hi! I’ve m thinking about adding a set of optional features in the future.

What does this Center Spread feature really do?

If you haven’t already, take a look at the DeRemote app. It is no longer updated but was one the best Denon apps around.

I still use it and it even provides access to settings hidden in the AVR menu.

I just bought lifetime for your app as I like supporting developers.

DeRemote might give you some ideas for improvements.
